In the evening on January 23, 1998, a happy gathering was held to celebrate professor Rei Shiratori's 60th birthday and IPSJ's 33rd anniversary in the hall on the top of National Press Center in Tokyo.
    More than 200 statesmen, journalists and scholars participated in the party. Two former prime ministers, Mr. Toshiki Kaifu and Mr. Tsutomu Hata, and Mr. Yukio Hatoyama, secretary general of Democratic Party, were among the participants.

Miss Yuki SHIRATORI Married in May 10

     Miss Yuki Shiratori, daughter of Professor Rei Shiratori, married with Mr. Satoru Kato, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Yoshizo Kato, at ANA Hotel in Tokyo on Sunday, May 10, in 1998. 
     Both bride and bridegroom works at Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd. Mr. Satoru Kato is joyfull sportsman and was the Captain of American Football Team at St. Pall (Rikkyo) University. He is still playing American Football in Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd. 
     Professor Rei Shiratori returned from lecture tour in Central European Countries arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, May 8, two days before the marriage. Apparently he was tired but was very glad to see his daughter's marriage.

in Korean Language

     Professor Rei Shiratori's book on "Theories on Decision Making" (Tokai University Press, June 1990) was translated and published in September 15, 1998, in Korea. ISBN number of the book is 89-87297-07-1.
